Canon EOS 1100D / Rebel T3
Canon EOS 1100D / Rebel T3 |
It now has a 9-point AF System and has been upgraded to the latest 63-zone metering sensor. ISO sensitivities range from 100 – 6400 and the camera is now able to shoot HD video in 720p at 30 or 25 FPS. The LCD screen has been upgraded from its predecessor to a 2.7 inch and has Live View. 3 FPS is possible with up to 830 JPEGs or 2 FPS at 5 RAW. The camera is compatible with SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards as well as Canon’s full line of EF and EF-S lenses. |
Images Quality |
The EOS Rebel T3 now has a 12.2 MPx CMOS Sensor. The sensor takes great quality photos, no doubt aided by the DIGIC 4 Image Processor. According to Camera Labs it even “essentially matches the new 14 Megapixel sensor from the Nikon D3100 both in terms of detail and noise levels.” ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 – 6400. It also features Canon’s new 63 zone metering for better exposures. The autofocus has been upgraded to a 9-point system, with high precision f/5.6 cross-type center point which can be set to manual or automatic.
Construction |
The camera comes equipped with a 2.7 inch LCD screen. The memory card slot has been moved to the battery compartment and is compatible with SD, SDHC and SDXC as well as Eye-Fi. The camera has 3 ports, one for the RS-60E3 remote switch, a USB port and a mini HDMI port. Lastly, the T3 has large clearly labeled buttons, no doubt geared towards the entry level user. This is helpful for those that are unfamiliar with the workings of the camera.
Usability |
The Rebel T3 is able to shoot 3 FPS for up to 830 JPEGs, 2 FPS for 5 RAW images. On the camera’s LCD, Feature Guide displays simple instructions and advice to help the beginner user. It is displayed in each shooting mode, during Mode Dial operations, as well as Quick Control screen functions. Finally, movie mode is capable of 720p at 30 and 25 FPS. |

When the image-recording quality is JPEG, continuous shooting is possible until the 4GB SD card (Canon standard test card) becomes full. However, if you use an SD card whose writing speed is slower than our test card or if the file size is larger than our standard test image, you might not be able to shoot continuously until the card becomes full. * Based on Canon’s testing standards with a 2GB CF card, high-speed continuous shooting, ISO 100 and Standard Picture Style. * Varies depending on the subject, SD card brand, image-recording quality, ISO speed, drive mode, Picture Style, etc. |
